A big gorgeous generous jug with a whole story painted around the form. There’s a row of cottages and a big house on the land with smoke gently rising from the chimneys. As well as the lighthouse warning ships, there’s an early sail powered lifeboat on the horizon. This beautiful jug is all about keeping safe at sea and returning home.
This jug is thrown on the potters wheel from red earthenware clay. The decoration is painted on with slips and glazes. The design is drawn on using the sgraffito technique.
17 cm h x 14 cm w plus handle.
