Hand made on the potters wheel from Red Earthenware clay with sgraffito slip decoration. The image is scratched through the upper layer of white clay revealing the red beneath. I am inspired by the work of mid century British painters including Alfred Wallis. There is a definate Cornish feel to this pedestal bowl with a lovely depth to the layers of slip and glaze on the sea area. This pedestal bowl is 15 cm high and 13 cm diameter.
Ships in Harbour Pedestal Bowl
I am inspired by the work of mid century British painters including Alfred Wallis although there is a hint of Peter Doig in this work. The image on this work is of a mountain scene drawn from imagination but inspired by visits to Ontario in Canada and to Cader Idris in Wales. This pedestal bowl is 19 cm high and 12.5 cm diameter.
