A linocut image of the merchant ship Snar, creates a raised tactile surface in the well of this dish. Painted with layers of glazes, the red eartheware clay glows warmly through the surface. 

 

Suitable for serving or display this dish has a mellow quality.

  • Originally named Snar, then Finse, then SS Aghios Giorgios II and built in Bergen, Norway in 1916. In 1963 she caught fire in the English Channel with a full cargo of esparto grass used in paper manufacturing. The fire raged for days and she was eventually beached in Normans Bay, east of Eastbourne.
