Create Your Own Festive Ceramic Lantern with Anne Barrell – Workshop in Lewes

Get ready for the festive season with a hands-on creative experience! Join ceramic artist Anne Barrell at the Sussex Guild Shop in Lewes on Saturday 15th November 2025 for a slab-built lantern workshop — the perfect way to make something beautiful, personal, and handmade for Christmas.

Choose between two sessions:🕙 Morning: 10am – 1pm🕓 Afternoon: 2pm – 5pm💷 £60 per person (max. 8 participants per session)

Over three relaxed and creative hours, Anne will guide you through the process of rolling out clay slabs, joining seams, cutting decorative shapes, and adding a lid — perhaps topped with a cheerful little robin! You’ll also have the chance to decorate with colourful ceramic underglazes before your lanterns are twice-fired and finished with a clear, shiny glaze.

Enjoy plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits as you create your own unique lantern, perfect as a Christmas decoration or a thoughtful handmade gift.

Your finished piece will be ready to collect from Lewes or Eastbourne 2–3 weeks later — or can be posted to you for £5.
